The two Koreas are set to sign an agreement as early as next week on electricity supply for the industrial complex being built in the North Korean city of Gaesong.
An official at the Unification Ministry said Friday that the two Koreas have agreed to on major details such as total power usage and the number of telephone lines needed for 15 companies that will soon begin operating in the industrial park.
Of those 15 firms, the official said Seoul-based kitchenware manufacturer Livingart will likely be the first to begin production of its goods on North Korean soil, by possibly as early as next month.
The two Koreas will also soon reportedly reopen talks on the issue of the communications system for the Gaesong complex, which has been a sticking point for the two sides.
