A team of U.N. nuclear inspectors will kick off a third round of on-site investigations Tuesday into South Korea's uranium and plutonium extraction experiments.

The Science and Technology Ministry announced Monday that a five-member team from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be in South Korea for six days to continue probing into Seoul's past nuclear activities.

The ministry said the team will visit the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute in Daejon and an atomic lab in Seoul to supplement data gathered from the two previous rounds of inspections that were carried out in early and late September.

The IAEA Board of Governors will convene on November 25th to review the results of the inspection teams and decide on whether or not to refer Seoul's past nuclear activities to the U.N. Security Council.

Earlier in September, Seoul acknowledged that a group of South Korean scientists had produced minimal amounts of enriched uranium and plutonium in the 1980s and in 2000 without reporting the experiments to the government.
