A government source says Japanese Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura will likely visit Seoul later this week to discuss pending bilateral issues, including efforts to resume stalled six-way nuclear talks.

The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Sunday that Seoul is working to realize Machimura’s visit on around Friday or Saturday.

The senior Japanese official is reportedly expected to meet with President Roh Moo-hyun, Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon and Unification Minister Chung Dong-young before leaving Seoul on Sunday.
