Seoul to Hand Over Atomic Power Statutes to Vietnam

Written: 2004-11-02 00:00:00Updated: 0000-00-00 00:00:00

The government has announced a plan to hand over its atomic energy technology and statutes to Vietnam.

The Ministry of Science and Technology said Tuesday that it had translated South Korea’s atomic energy statute book into English and will convey it to the Chairman of Vietnam’s Atomic Energy Commission, Vuong Huu Tan, who is currently visiting Seoul. Currently, South Korea ranks 6th in the world in terms of atomic energy technology.

The translated statute book includes all of South Korea's laws and regulations involving atomic power technology standards.

Seoul is hoping that the hand over of its atomic energy regulations will lead to the creation of a favorable environment where South Korean firms would be able to actively take part in construction projects of Vietnamese atomic power plants.
