The Seoul government and LG Electronics called on the Tokyo government to refrain from interfering in the ongoing patent dispute on plasma display panels (PDP) between LG and Japan's Matsushita.

Officials at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy met Japanese envoys Thursday and asked Tokyo not to impose a ban on imports of LG plasma display panels (PDP), as requested by Matsushita.

The message echoed Commerce Minister Lee Hee-beom's comments on Wednesday, calling on the Japanese government to take a fair and prudent approach on the dispute.
