Inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will leave Seoul Sunday following a third round of investigations this week into South Korea's past nuclear experiments.
The five inspectors who arrived Tuesday wrapped up their probe into the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute in central Daejeon on Friday.
The inspectors double-checked and supplemented data gathered from the last two rounds of inspections conducted in early and late September.
The team also asked for daily journals on the operation of a laser separator used to extract uranium in 2000. However the request could not be met as the institute had discarded the records. South Korean officials reportedly provided the inspectors with other related documents.
On Saturday, the team will visit an atomic research laboratory in Seoul before departing the country the following day.
The inspectors will submit the results of their findings to the IAEA Board of Governors, which will convene on November 25. The Board will decide on whether to refer the matter to the U.N. Security Council.
