Survey: S.Koreans Spend 11 Hrs a Week on Internet

A local survey shows that nine out of ten South Koreas have an e-mail account and surf the Internet over 11 hours per week.

According to a report released by the National Internet Development Agency, some 87 percent of the country's population is making use of electronic mail, sending an average 12.3 e-mails per person every week.

The report also says 37 percent of its citizens are using online chat-related programs.

Online gamers account for nearly 60 percent of the population while the average Korean drops by cyber shopping malls about 1.7 times a month, to spend a monthly average of 59,000 won or some 53 dollars.
