President Roh Moo-hyun has congratulated the ruling Uri Party on its one-year founding anniversary.

In a congratulatory message on Thursday, the president called on the Uri Party to fulfill its pledge during the April general elections of establishing political stability and implementing reforms.

Roh also urged the party to nurture future growth engines and pursue balanced regional development as well as to help establish a transparent society free of corruption.

The president further told the Uri Party that it has the responsibility to create a parliament that is dedicated to productive politics and serving public needs.
