The Seoul Central District Public Prosecutors' Office says it will reveal the names of democracy activists who were murdered or injured during the 1980 Gwangju pro-democracy uprising, but will withhold the identities of their alleged killers.
The announcement comes on the heels of a Supreme Court ruling to make public investigation records pertaining to the 1979 military coup and the mass student protests and the killing of activists that shook the nation the following year.
