Nineteen ethnic Koreans who were forcibly relocated to Russia's Sakhalin Island during the Japanese colonial rule will permanently return to their homeland this month and early next month. The Korean Red Cross said that a first group of 16 will arrive in Seoul next Saturday while the remaining three are scheduled to arrive on December 4th. The relief agency also said they will reside in different locations in Ansan, Incheon and Goryeong in North Gyeongsang province. The Korean Red Cross has been carrying out a project to facilitate the repatriation of Korean nationals in Russia. From 1992 to the present, some 1,600 of those have returned to their mother country.
