Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan has ordered relevant ministries to promptly decide on the level of punishment for unionized civil servants who took part in Monday's nationwide strike.

During a Tuesday Cabinet meeting, Lee called for a swift decision for punitive action against relevant workers at central government offices and those working in provincial governments.

Administration and Home Affairs Minister Huh Sung-kwan said some one thousand-500 out of three thousand civil workers who took in Monday's strike have returned to their workplaces. The minister said 13 of them have been taken into police custody and that the disciplinary process has begun for 92 others, including six central government officials.
