The Foreign Ministry says 45 Koreans have evacuated from Cote d'Ivoire to neighboring countries amid increasing violence in the strife-torn West African state.

As armed conflict is expected to continue in the nation, the Seoul government is advising other South Koreans to temporarily leave the country.

The ministry says it plans to arrange for the remaining one hundred-58 Koreans in Cote d'Ivoire to leave the country on chartered or military planes of other countries or by ship if airports are shut down in the worst-case scenario.
