China will open a Confucian school in Seoul on Sunday.

A Chinese daily said the Seoul Confucian school will be the first of one hundred Confucian schools the Beijing government plans to set up around the world.

A senior Chinese Education Ministry official was quoted as saying that the Confucian school project is aimed at promoting the Chinese language across the world, not at spreading the ideas of the Chinese philosopher Confucius.
