U.S. Army headquarters in Germany has announced that it will pull out 12 American military units out of the country next year.

The headquarters said Friday the planned troop pull out will be a part of Washington's global defense posture realignment plan.

It said some one thousand U.S. soldiers will be dismissed from their military service in Germany.

Despite the pull out, the number of U.S. troops in Germany will be maintained at the current 62 thousand as the number of soldiers in the remaining units will be reinforced.
