The United Nations World Food Program's food aid operations in North Korea have reportedly been disrupted for months.

According to the WFP weekly report, the U.N. agency has not been allowed into a food-processing factory that processes food for children in Heechon of Chagang Province since August.

The report said the U.N. food agency is currently operating a total of 17 such factories in North Korea and that the Heechon factory was put into operation in October.

The WFP declined to disclose the reasons why the agency has been forbidden from entering the factory, but the report came on the heels of a recent announcement by the North that it would strictly limit the acitivities of international agencies in the country.
