Washington does not respect North Korea's political system and its right of self-government and holds no intentions of co-existing peacefully with Pyongyang, according to the North's state-run Rodong Shinmun newspaper.

The paper said in a commentary that U.S. plans to drop small hand-held radios into North Korea, with the recent adoption of a U.S. law to support North Korean human rights, would be seen as an attempt to topple the North's regime.

Although the U.S. has repeatedly stated it would not invade North Korea and sought dialogue, the paper said, the words amounted to "nothing but hypocrisy and deception."
