Diplomats from South and North Korea met in New York Tuesday at a seminar on resolving Pyongyang's nuclear deadlock.

Wi Sung-lac, political minister at the South Korean embassy in Washington, said he met Han Song-ryul, deputy chief of North Korea's mission to the U.N., at the luncheon seminar and discussed issues including the six-way nuclear talks.

The South Korean diplomat, who said he attended the gathering in a personal capacity, added that some twenty experts on Korean affairs participated but that no U.S. government official was present.

The seminar was organized by the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, a non-profit activist group involved in resolving conflicts worldwide.
