Four people claiming to be North Koreans have entered the French Embassy in Hanoi.

The embassy said on Saturday the four refugees, claiming to be North Korean, entered the embassy on Friday afternoon.

Alexis Andres, First Secretary for the French Embassy in the Vietnamese Capital said the embassy is currently looking into the matter.

Andres said the French embassy is working on "various scenarios" to deal with the matter, but did not elaborate on the refugees' demands.
