S.Korea Pushes to Issue Postal Stamps with N.Korea Next Year

South Korea is actively pushing to issue postal stamps in conjunction with North Korea.

The Korea Post said Thursday that it plans to push forward with plans to jointly issue stamps with the North next year to mark the occasions of the fifth anniversary of the historic inter-Korean summit between former President Kim Dae-jung and North Korean leader Kim Jong-il in June 2000 and the 60th anniversary of Korea's independence.

As the plan treads on relatively innocuous ideological ground, the stamps are expected to come into production once North Korea officially agrees to the proposal.
