S.Korean Aid Groups Expect Active Inter-Korean Exchanges in 2005

South Korean organizations providing assistance to North Korea are projecting active inter-Korean exchange in 2005, the 10th anniversary of the launch of domestic assistance activities for the communist country.

One of those aid groups, the Korean Sharing Movement, said on Monday that local organizations such as themselves should focus on development efforts and cooperation in the areas of health, education and agriculture in 2005.

An official at the group said the Korean Sharing Movement would actively pursue projects relating to hospital modernization and the construction of assembly plants for agricultural machinery in the North.

The official also pointed to prospects of improved inter-Korean relations in 2005, citing North Korea's plans to hold the Pyongyang Exposition in May in a bid to expand cooperation with foreign countries.
