North Korea has denounced Japan's plan to enact a human rights law on the communist country.

In the North’s official newspaper Rodong Sinmun, North Korea said on Saturday that the "wicked and stupid men" in Japan's ruling camp are pushing the legislation in league with the United States.

The paper also claimed that the Japanese move is aimed at overthrowing North Korea's communist regime, calling it a "daydream of stupid men".

Calls are rising in Japan for sanctions against North Korea after the communist country had handed over the allegedly "fake" remains of a Japanese girl kidnapped by the North dacades ago.

To put pressure on North Korea, a group of Japanese ruling and opposition lawmakers are seeking to introduce a bill later this month calling for improvement in North Korea's human rights conditions.
