South Korea is considering a ban on the import and sale of horns of Canadian antlers.

The move follows news reports that some of the antlers raised in Canada were found to have been infected with a strain of mad cow disease virus.

Last year, South Korea imported about one hundred 70 tons of antlers with a quarter of them from Canada.

Britain's BBC said the Canadian government has recently banned exports of antlers after some 1,500 Canadian antlers got infected with mad cow disease.
