Heads of South Korean press companies delivered Wednesday a letter to their North Korean counterparts to invite them to Seoul.
The South's committee for inter-Korean press exchanges said that it sent the invitation to Choe Chil-nam, editor in chief of the Rodong Shinmun (Workers' Daily), via the liaison officers at the truce village of Panmunjom.
The move is a follow-up measure of an agreement between media companies' heads of South and North Korea signed in August in Pyongyang when the South's media delegation visited the socialist country for the first time since the division of the Korean peninsula.
The two sides will decide the detailed schedules of North Korean media heads' visit to Seoul at the coming working-level talks.
The South's committee is comprised of the Korean Newspapers Association, Korean Broadcasters Association, Korean News Editors Association and Journalists Association of Korea.
