The Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information have jointly opened an integrated content service on the KISTI website, introducing natural products of South and North Korea.

North Korea has been designating, preserving and managing its natural products under related provisions and laws established in 1948.

The North is also known to have designated its natural products based on their cultural, historical, representative and rare values. However, some monuments have reportedly been designated based on their political value.
