S. Korean musicians, spectators to visit Pyongyang for concert

A group of 125 South Korean musicians, spectators and broadcasting staff flew to Pyongyang via Beijing Sunday for a New Year's concert in the North Korea capital, becoming the first South Koreans to visit North Korea this year.
The group will stay in the North for five days to attend the 2001 Millennium Unification Concert at the Moranbong Theater Wednesday and tour the North Korean capital city.
The group consists of 99 spectators and 26 performing artists and MBC camera crew who will broadcast the concert with the help of broadcasting vehicles, the satellite news gathering system and other acoustic equipment.
Among the northern visitors are conductor Gum Nanse, violinist Kang Dong-suk, vocalist Kim Nam-du, pianist Kim Hye-jong and Vice President Ma Eui-ung of the Korea Taekwondo Association and others.
