North Korea has again accused the United States of attempting to launch preemptive nuclear attacks.

Citing a U.S. weekly magazine, Defense News, North Korea's Workers' Party newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, said the U.S. Department of Defense is suspected of devising a slate of new "war scenarios" against Pyongyang and other states.

The paper said Washington is invariably attempting to launch preemptive strikes on anti-imperialist independent and progressive countries including North Korea.

The reports went on to say that the "simulated collapse of the nuclear regime" mentioned in the U.S. war scenarios clearly refers to North Korea.

The paper stressed that the world's peace-loving peoples should heighten vigilance against such alleged U.S. ambitions.
