Despite North Korea's recent revelation of having nuclear weapons and its announced intent to pull out of the six-way nuclear talks, inter-Korean cooperation projects are being carried out as usual.
According to a South Korean official involved in the Gaesong industrial complex project, development of the industrial park in the border city is proceeding normally.
Tourism at North Korea's scenic Mount Geumgang also seems to be unaffected by Pyongyang's declaration, with more than 350 South Koreans departing for the mountain on Saturday alone.
A government official said that inter-Korean cooperation projects have secured stability for the region since first launching in 2000 after the unprecedented inter-Korean summit, and projected that the recent turn of events in the nuclear issue will not hamper such exchanges between the two Koreas.
