Public officials will get an average of six point seven percent pay hike this year.

But Vice Ministers and officials above the ranks will see their wages frozen at last year's level due to the nation's current economic difficulties.

President Kim Dae-jung will receive about one hundred 30 million won or one hundred two thousand U.S. dollars this year. He is the only public servant whose annual salary exceeds the one hundred million won level.

The second highest wage earner among public servants will be the prime minister whose annual salary is set at a little over 93 million won this year. He is followed by the chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection with 75 million won.
