Chinese Envoy Urges Members of 6-way Talks to Bolster Efforts

Ambassador Ning Fukui, China's special envoy for Korean affairs, has urged member states of the six-way nuclear talks to exert efforts for the prompt resumption of the multilateral dialogue, expressing his wish for the talks to result in "substantive progress."

The Chinese official made the comments in the course of a chain of talks with the Russian, South Korean and Japanese Ambassadors to Beijing on Wednesday and Thursday.

The six-nation talks aimed at resolving the 26-month-old North Korean nuclear standoff involves the two Koreas, the U.S., Russia, China and Japan.
