Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi has called on North Korea to stop its accusations against Tokyo and swiftly rejoin the six-party nuclear talks.

The Prime Minister told reporters on Thursday that it would be in Pyongyang's interest to return to the disarmament dialogue rather than to lash out at Japan concerning the Japanese abductee issue.

Koizumi noted that North Korea should work to earn trust from the international community in the immediate future by making the most of the multilateral framework. The Japanese leader went on to urge the communist state to unconditionally return to the negotiating table.
