S.Korea to End Corn Shipment to N.Korea Monday

South Korea will complete its shipments of corn to North Korea totalling some 100,000 tons through the World Food Program (WFP) on Monday.

A government official said Sunday the last 6,500-ton shipment will enter the North from China, after the WFP first started sending the aid on December 29.

The official said South Korea’s humanitarian aid to the North has been flowing despite a recent declaration by the communist state that it possesses nuclear weapons.

The official said such efforts clearly show that Seoul wants to continue its relationship with Pyongyang.
