A foreign diplomat stationed in Pyongyang has claimed that North Korea will return to the stalled six-way talks on its nuclear program within the next six months.
The anonymous senior diplomat said Friday that many positive signs are emerging that suggest that Pyongyang will soon rejoin the six-way nuclear discussions. He claimed that various agreements on basic agendas had been reached during China's diplomatic activities in the course of convincing the North to come back to the bargaining table.
However, the diplomat was quick to add that Pyongyang's call for Washington to drop its supposedly hardline policy toward the North would continue to remain an obstacle in the nuclear talks. He stressed that, for now, the U.S. must swiftly take part in efforts to persuade Pyongyang to reenter the six-nation negotiations.
