Officials from civic groups from South and North Korea have gathered in Mount Geumgang to discuss joint celebrations of the 5th anniversary of the June 15th South-North Joint Declaration.

The two sides are expected to launch a joint committee that will spearhead preparations for the joint celebrations of the event.

Some 180 officials from the two Koreas and abroad are attending the three-day meeting currently underway at the scenic resort in the North.

The two sides will exchange views on what kind of events to hold to celebrate the South-North declaration signed at the historic inter-Korean summit in June 2000.
