60% Localization Required to State S. Korea as Origin of Gaesung Products

The Ministry of Unification says that not all the products of the Gaesung Industrial Park will be labeled as South Korean products.

The ministry said Thursday that South Korea's investment and direct materials ratios must both be at least 60 percent in order to state South Korea as the origin of the goods produced at the border town of Gaesung.

The Gaesung products that meet the labeling requirements might still be labeled as "made in North Korea" pursuant to the importer's regulations, the ministry added.

The Gaesung Industrial Park is one of the most representative inter-Korean economic cooperation projects.
