A majority of the goods sold in North Korean markets have reportedly been found to come from China.

The Korea Development Institute recently released a review of the North Korean economy that included a paper by Professor Yang Moon-soo of Kyungnam University's Graduate School of North Korean Studies.

In his paper, Yang said most of the goods sold in North Korean markets were Chinese products and that it was difficult to find goods made in the North.

The findings were based on the testimonies of some 20 North Korean defectors.

The paper said the markets also sold a number of South Korean products that were suspected to have been smuggled into the North.
