N. Korea Hiring More Professionals for Official Posts

North Korea is hiring more professionals for official posts and experts in their thirties or forties to head factories and companies.

The Unification Ministry, in a report on the North's economic reforms, said officials in Pyongyang are now being selected through tests rather than conventional screening procedures such as recommendations and interviews.

It also said North Korea is reorganizing jobs at central and provincial organizations to boost efficiency, and deploying twenty to thirty percent of paid party members to industrial facilities.

The reported added that the North has included many theories on capitalism in economic textbooks used at Kim Il-sung University since 2003.
