North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has officially invited Chinese President Hu Jintao to visit North Korea.
A Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said Thursday that North Korean Premier Park Bong-ju delivered Kim's invitation Wednesday in a meeting with Hu in Beijing.
Hu expressed thanks for the invitation and said he will go the North at an opportune time.
