North Korean Premier Pak Bong-ju on Friday toured Shanghai's Pudong industrial district.

In Pudong, Pak was briefed on the city's efforts to attract foreign investors and discussed the efficiency of capitalism with Chinese officials.

He also rode a high-speed magnetic train linking the district and a nearby international airport.

On the first day of his Shanghai trip Thursday, Pak and his entourage visited the site of the Chinese Communist Party's first congress in 1921 and a city planning exhibit.

In the evening, Pak had dinner with the Shanghai mayor to discuss economic cooperation between the two countries.

Pak is scheduled to visit Shenyang before heading home Sunday.
