South Korean firms doing business at the Gaesong industrial complex in North Korea will convene a meeting Monday to discuss various managerial issues.
An official of the management committee of the industrial park said that all 15 heads of the companies operating in the Gaesong complex will attend the meeting.
The official said the firms' representatives are likely to make suggestions aimed at facilitating their operations, including the recruitment of North Korean workers and the transportation of personnel and materials in and out of the industrial complex.
North Korean officials involved in the Gaesong project as well as representatives of Korea Land Corp., the South Korean developer of the complex, will also attend the meeting.
The meeting is the first such gathering since production started in recent months at the industrial complex located just north of the inter-Korean border.
Among the 15 companies that are scheduled to start operations in the park by the end of June, four have already finished building factories.
