NK Holds Meeting of Legislature

North Korea on Monday held a session of the Supreme People's Assembly in Pyongyang after an unusual one-month delay.

The meeting was expected to focus on producing more crops and discussing pending economic issues.

Experts predict a resolution or statement may follow the session given the current tension between the United States and the North, which on February 10th declared itself as a nuclear power and walked away from the six-party talks.

Following the uneventful first round of the six-way talks in 2003, Pyongyang expressed its full support for its foreign ministry's effort to promote a nuclear deterrent at the first round of the presidium the same year.
