The government will assist in the design and building of railway stations in North Korea, as agreed in inter-Korean talks last year.

A Unification Ministry source said Monday that liaison officials at the truce village of Panmunjeom exchanged the agreement signed by the heads of the inter-Korean economic cooperation committees from both sides.

Under the agreement, South Korea will likely provide construction materials and equipment worth 26 billion won to build or repair six railway stations, including ones in Gaesong, Mount Geumgang and Panmun.
