North Korea has aired a documentary on the changed inter-Korean relations since the landmark bilateral summit in 2000, signaling its willingness to improve relations with South Korea.
In a 40-minute documentary aired on Monday, the Korean Central Television Broadcasting Station placed special significance on inter-Korean economic ventures, including an industrial complex being built in the North and the re-linking of cross-border railways and roads. It even went on to call them "projects for unification and prosperity."
However, the documentary criticized South Korea for its special probe into a secret money transfer to the North ahead of the 2000 summit, saying the probe led to the death of a businessman who had blazed the trail for inter-Korean economic cooperation.
The documentary was referring to Chung Mong-hun, the former head of Hyundai group, who jumped to his death in 2003 after being tried for his involvement in a scandal involving 500 million dollars secretly funneled to North Korea.
