China has sent four hundred-80 tons of grain and farm machinery to North Korea.

The state-run Xinhua News Agency on Friday said the aid package comprised 80 tons of rice, four hundred tons of corn, 100 thousand seedlings and reaping and seeding machines.

The supplies were given in a delivery ceremony Tuesday in the Chinese city of Jilin, which borders the North.

Experts call unusual China's public disclosure of the aid's breakdown.

China is known to provide one third of the North's food supply and a fourth of its energy needs.
