'Moment of Decision Near for NK Talks'

Deputy Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Song Min-soon says parties to the six-way nuclear talks are striving to resume the meeting and a moment of decision is drawing near.

The government's chief negotiator to the talks on Monday said sanctions or more pressure on the North is often mentioned in case the talks collapse, but diplomatic solutions can handle the situation.

Song was speaking to reporters Monday after meeting U-S counterpart Christopher Hill.

Song said his meeting with Hill focused on two goals: resuming the talks as soon as possible and achieving practical progress.

Meanwhile, Hill said Song and he reached a complete agreement on the "best tactics" to deal with North Korea, noting exceptional bilateral cooperation in the very difficult matter.

Hill arrived in Seoul Saturday on the first leg of his Northeast Asian trip that also includes stops in China and Japan later this week.
