'Made in Korea' Labeled on Gaeseong Items

"Made in Korea" labels are being placed on goods produced in the Gaeseong Industrial Complex in North Korea.

The Unification Ministry on Monday said Livingart, a Seoul-based kitchenware maker, affixed the labels on pots and pans made in the complex for export to Mexico.

Worth 57 thousand dollars, the goods were transferred to South Korea Saturday and will leave the port of Busan Wednesday.

A ministry official said Mexico will impose the same 20-percent tariff on kitchenware from South and North Korea.

Last December, Livingart became the first company in the complex to produce and ship items.
