Groups Press NK Fertilizer Aid

Civic groups are urging immediate fertilizer aid to North Korea.
The Association of Civic Groups for Inter-Korean Cooperation on Friday said the government must send at least 200 thousand tons of fertilizer as in previous years because it is a humanitarian issue.
It pressed for sending immediate aid before the North's peak planting season in mid-May.
The government says it may fail to accommodate the North's recent request for 500 thousand tons.
