Website to Reunite Separated Families

Families separated during the Korean War can access video messages from lost relatives on the Internet from August.

In a press preview at the Gwacheon Government Complex Wednesday, the Unification Ministry said its information center for separated families will post such messages on the Web.

The ministry and the Korean National Red Cross have proposed 20-minute video clips of separated family profiles and messages to loved ones in the North.

Up to four thousand people die of old age every year without seeing their relatives in the North.

The ministry will directly deliver messages to the North and set up a comprehensive image data system for online reunions of separated families.
