A global nuclear conference will snub a decision on North Korea, which pulled out of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) in early 2003.

Brazilian Sergio de Queiroz Duarte, president of the month-long event to review the treaty, on Friday said several conference participants called for the North's status to remain vague to prepare for its possible return to the agreement.

The almost two hundred participants have apparently agreed to leave an open door in case the North comes back.

Duarte also said the decision reflects the hope of the participating nations of peaceful resolution of the nuclear issue through the six-way talks.
