The government has proposed sending a minister-level delegation to Pyongyang for an event marking the fifth anniversary of the historic inter-Korean summit.
If North Korea accepts, Unification Minister Chung Dong-young is expected to visit Pyongyang for a joint event on June 15th.
A Seoul official involved with the vice ministers' inter-Korean meeting said Tuesday that the two sides discussed the delegation's size and when to resume minister-level dialogue.
Additionally, the South wants an agreement on peaceful resolution of the nuclear issue, including the North's return to the six-way talks and a specific timetable for normalizing inter-Korean relations.
The two Koreas have also discussed resuming Red Cross talks for another round of family reunions on August 15th, an opening ceremony for reconnected inter-Korean roads and fertilizer and food aid to the North.
The two sides are scheduled to wrap up the vice ministers' talks with a joint statement.
