The Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs said Tuesday that it will accept subsidy applications from nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) between Feb. 1st and March 31st.

The ministry said that all NGOs are eligible to become recipients of state subsidies if their projects include work toward inter-Korean and national reconciliation, or if they plan to hold cultural events for the 2002 World Cup finals, recruit volunteers for social events, promote human rights for women and juveniles, protect the environment, save energy or conduct exchanges with foreign NGOs.

The ministry has set aside $11.8 million in subsidies for local NGOs for this year, the same amount as last year.
